Rice Mill
A woman walks across the chattal, or drying floor, at the Moti Auto Rice Mill in Netrokona, Bangladesh. Traditionally, rice is dried on the open air chattals where grains are subject to contamination and high moisture from the humid climate. The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for the Reduction of Post-Harvest Loss is working with millers in Bangladesh to reduce loss and improve efficiency of rice drying and storage through mechanical drying and hermetic storage.
