WHES Associates and contributors

World Hunger Education Service Associates and contributors, through their financial, moral, and intellectual support of WHES, make possible the activities of WHES, especially Hunger Notes. WHES is a registered nonprofit organization in existence since 1976. Your financial contributions are tax deductible.

You can be an Associate or make a smaller contribution.  Associate contributions are $50 or more per year.  WHES is also very grateful for smaller contributions.

Most of your financial support is used  make contributions to organizations working to reduce world hunger.  All contributions from churches, as well as all on-line contributions,  are used 100 percent to reduce world hunger.

Other contributions help maintain the Hunger Notes website, support interns, and pay basic office expenses. The Hunger Notes website had  681,000 visitors in 2009 learning about world hunger and poverty.  Thanks to volunteer labor, WHES is run on  a very small budget. Expenditures in 2009 were $5,975 and income was $4,088. The major WHES expenses in 2008 were office and internet expenses of $3,872 and, through our hunger quiz, contributions to organizations working to reduce hunger of  $2,706.

See the text of  our 2009 letter to WHES contributors.
