Global Nutrition Report 2020 Reports that Malnutrition is Leading Cause of Mortality and Morbidity

by Development Initiatives, Bristol, UK

2020 Global Nutrition Report: Action on equity to end malnutrition was released 12 May 2020. The report states that one in nine persons around the world suffers from hunger (820 million) and one in three persons is overweight or obese (also a form of malnutrition). In a forward to the report by David Nabarro, Special Representative to the UN Secretary General for Food Security (see our interview in September) expresses concern that recent advances in the fight against malnutrition may be lost due to the Covid-19 Crisis.
