Agro-Forestry Project Brings Blue-Green Therapy To Barbados

by Daphne Ewing-Chow

In Barbados, Coco Hill is the only agro-forestry project of its kind on the 166-square mile island and the product of six years of experimentation since Mood purchased the land in 2013. Permaculture, biodynamic, vertical, edge, terrace and integrated farming methodologies are employed across 53-acres of escalating terraces of fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, medicinals, ‘secret gardens’, and unique ecosystems that are home to over 50 varieties of fruit trees and 80 different types of plants.
